This book was written to educate children about schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe, and disabling brain disorder. According to Mental Health America, it affects about one percent of people worldwide. It knows no racial, cultural, or economic boundaries.

Schizophrenia may be one of the most misunderstood mental illnesses, as it is extremely disabling. Media attention on mental health awareness has sparked conversation on this subject, but not necessarily an understanding about the illness.

My Brother Adam takes readers on a journey through what life is like for Adam, narrated by his sister Carla.
